Accessibility Checklist (WCAG 2.1 AA)

Ensure your product is usable by everyone. This checklist covers the essentials for meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

1. Visual & Design

Color Contrast

Text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background (3:1 for large text).

Don't Rely on Color Alone

Color is not used as the only visual means of conveying information (e.g., use icons or text for errors).

Text Resizing

Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

2. Interaction & Keyboard

Keyboard Accessible

All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using only a keyboard (Tab, Enter, Space, Arrows).

Focus Visible

The keyboard focus indicator is clearly visible on all interactive elements.

No Keyboard Traps

Focus is not trapped in any component; users can tab in and out of everything.

3. Content & Structure

Headings Hierarchy

Headings (h1-h6) are used correctly to convey the document structure, not just for styling.

Alt Text for Images

All meaningful images have descriptive alt text. Decorative images have empty alt attributes (alt="").

Labels & Instructions

Form fields have clear, visible labels. Instructions are provided when content requires user input.
