Native to Central and South America. They are 'sweet peppers' with no heat (capsaicin).
Blocky, lobed shape. Colors range from green (unripe) to red, yellow, and orange.
Green is grassy/bitter; Red/Yellow/Orange are sweet and fruity.
Crisp, thick flesh with a watery crunch.
Salads, fajitas, stuffing, or roasting.
